CAMP Rehoboth is excited to announce 12x12xHeART, an art exhibition and fundraiser.

With a nod to our past art auctions, but with an exciting new twist, 12x12xHeART will be a celebration of the high level of creativity and achievement of artists in our area, raise funds for CAMP Rehoboth’s art programming, and allow everyone to have fun in the process!

The work of approximately 20 emerging and established artists will be displayed side-by-side in the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center, with each piece being 12 inches by 12 inches in size. The art will be on display from May 7 until May 27.

Artists will sell their work at 50% commission; winning bidders get wonderful artworks, with CAMP Rehoboth receiving a 50% commission, or 100% of the sale price if the artist donates it to CAMP Rehoboth. CAMP Rehoboth’s proceeds will be used to support its arts programming.

A New Twist

Who needs paper logs? With 12x12xHeART, CAMP Rehoboth will be taking it to the next level and offering online bidding! It’s as simple as 1-2-3! Simply visit the 12x12xHeART site to view the art, register as a bidder, then select and bid on the artwork you want!  The site and bidding will be available beginning in early May through May 27.

The Closing Bid Reception

The 12x12xHeART exhibition will culminate in a closing Bid Reception on May 27, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center. Socialize, enjoy refreshments, view the art in person, and continue bidding! Bidding will close, and the bidders will learn if they have won! Bidders need not be present to win. Funds raised will be used to enhance CAMP Rehoboth’s focus on arts.

Focus on the Arts

Building on partnerships throughout the State of Delaware, CAMP Rehoboth is working to expand programming in several areas, including the arts. The arts have always been a part of CAMP Rehoboth’s mission – from the Chorus to our art shows, concerts and more, with the recent performances of Stop Kiss as an example. Several new initiatives are planned for the coming year and beyond, including arts education, additional shows, ways to support emerging artists, as well as providing creative arts programming to the 55 plus population we serve, and engaging a local neighborhood in the creation of community art. Project CAMPfire – Fostering, Inspiring and Rewarding Emerging arts and artists, is the project under which these new arts programs are united.

What You Can Do

Watch for more information – our online bidding site will be open in early May. Visit the site to view the art and register. Bid often! Plan to attend the 12x12xHeART closing bid party – May 27, from 4 to 7, where the excitement will build. Winning bidders will be able to take home a new artwork, which will remind them of a person and a place and provide the satisfaction of knowing you have helped to support the arts! The generosity and support shown by participating artists is vital and greatly appreciated by CAMP Rehoboth and its Board of Directors. Your attendance and participation in bidding will enable us to continue bringing art programming to our local area.
