As do many benefactors of CAMP Rehoboth and
the Community Center, Amy and I have enjoyed our getaways to Rehoboth for
a lot of years. And like many others, we now own a home there as well. We
have watched with appreciation as the leadership, staff, and volunteers
have worked with commitment, passion, and persistence to grow the mission
and now, the physical space.
Through it all, and through my professional and personal association
with the organization, I became friends with Kathy Weir. Having worked for
many years as a volunteer (and a few years as staff) in Philadelphia’s
lesbian and gay community, I am well aware of the unique challenges
presented by non- profit work particularly in our community. Kathy is one
of the most tireless workers I know. Even on one of my good days at the
Philadelphia Community Center, I think she would put me to shame! She
always has a smile and good cheer when Amy and I stop in to say hello, but
she also shared that with many of the other passers-by, whoever they are.
And frankly, I don’t know how she gets anything done with all the
interruptions she has! I know that there are many other individuals who
make CAMP Rehoboth "work," but for me, it’s always been Kathy.
Amy and I have wanted to increase our contribution to the Community
Center’s capital campaign (Founder’s Circle) and have let too much
time pass. As we approach the holidays, we wanted to send along this
$2,500 check in honor and appreciation of Kathy Weir and all that she has
done (and continues to do) to contribute to the success of CAMP Rehoboth
and the Community Center.
Continued best wishes to you and thank you for all that you do as well.

On behalf of the Rehoboth Beach Film Society, thank you for being a
sponsor of the Eighth Annual Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival.
The Festival experienced another year of success with fantastic films
and informative seminars. The new, "open style" tent provided a
comfortable place for sponsors, volunteers, special guests, and film
enthusiasts to enjoy delicious food, great conversation, and other
activities throughout the four day event.
Your generous support as a sponsor greatly contributes to the quality
of the Festival. Hundreds of film enthusiasts from Delaware and many other
states travel to be a part of this wonderful, community event. I continue
to be amazed at how such a diverse audience comes together to enjoy a
common interest in the cinematic arts.
Once again, thank you for supporting the Film Society’s efforts to
produce the best festival ever!

On behalf of the Rehoboth Beach Film Society, we want to thank Sal
Seeley of the CAMPsafe program, and CAMP Rehoboth for being a sponsor of
the statewide Living Positive: A Women’s Wellness Project, held November
29-December 1, 2005
From the inception of this project, the Film Society hoped to assist
the ongoing effort to increase community awareness of HIV/AIDS by using
film as an alternative means of communicating a prevention message. Toward
this end, the project was successful in that the audiences at all of the
events were able to relate to the film’s main characters. The prevention
message was enhanced by the presentations of Pat Lincoln and Nina Bennett,
and the testimonials of the four women who spoke about living everyday
life while battling a disease that is commonly viewed as a death sentence.
Overall the project can be viewed as successful. If one audience member
changes a lifestyle habit, or gets tested, the project had a positive
impact.
Thank you again for helping to co-sponsor this event. We look forward
to working with you in the future.
