It’s incredible that it is already 2003
and we’re beginning the second year of our Founders’ Circle Capital
Campaign. When we began our journey back in mid-2001 to build a
full-service Community Center, we didn’t know what challenges would
lay ahead. All we knew was that we were passionate about responding to
the needs voiced by our community. We never fully anticipated the
outpouring of love and support that we would receive. To those of you
who donated to the Capital Campaign or any one of our fundraising events
or to those of you who built shelves, landscaped or performed a myriad
of activities that needed to be done to keep a Community Center running,
we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
As we begin 2003, we need to look at what
all of us together on this journey have accomplished. Purchased in 2002,
the property at 39 Baltimore Avenue is the home of the CAMP Rehoboth
Community Center. The Community Center staff welcomes everyone, from old
friends to visitors to those of you who have just moved into our
community. You will find not only the Community Center administrative
offices and meeting space here but also “family owned” businesses
that offer you a wide-range of services. To achieve our vision to become
better connected with each other and with the community at large by
building a full-service Community Center, we need to renovate the
current property. We hired a Washington, DC area architectural firm,
Portico, Inc., to assume the role of Project Manager for the Request For
Proposals (RFPs) process. They received six responses from architectural
firms interested in being considered for the property renovation. In
future issues of Letters, we will keep you updated on who was selected
and how we are progressing.
As we continue to move forward with this
work, it becomes more important for us to reach our five-year
Founders’ Circle Capital Campaign goal of $1,000,000. The $322,650 in
pledges that we have received thus far from our 136 members in the
Founders’ Circle demonstrates their belief in the importance of
community. Through connecting people, activities and resources, all of
us can help each other learn and grow and develop a sense of pride in
what we have been able to accomplish. Each of you is an important part
of our community and we need you to be involved in helping us reach our
goal.
During the month of February, be a
sweetheart and become a part of the “Heart of the Community” by
joining our Founders’ Circle. Your contribution will enable us to
create a fabulous home for our community. A tax-deductible membership in
the Founders’ Circle makes a great gift for that special someone in
your life, whether it’s a significant other, family, friend or even
yourself. CAMP Rehoboth is a 501(c)(3) organization
and contributions are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. Just
print out and complete the form (that is available in PDF format HERE)
and become a member of the Founder’s Circle Capital Campaign. We’ll
set up your membership and make sure that you receive your special
gift(s) as a token of our appreciation.
Show your community spirit and become
part of the dream! All of us working together will make it happen.
