Connections
There seem to be two constant and unique things about the month of
March in our beach community and in many communities like ours around
the country. We brace for the late winter weather that can bring
constantly changing conditions while having thoughts of spring and our
favorite visitors arriving once again. Plus, we look forward to
celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with great friends, green beer and
attire and shamrocks for good luck. These traditions keep people
connected through celebrations, conversations and simple greetings of
"how is the weather out there?" or "may the luck of the
Irish be with you."
Change in any form is a given in our lives and in our community. We
fondly embrace old friends and welcome new ones as we all work together
to strengthen and build our community. This is my first article for CAMP
Rehoboth as its new Development Director. I look forward to working with
each and every one of you in our community to create a safe place that
is inclusive and welcoming. As we move forward with redesigning our
Community Center, celebrating life together at many of our annual
fundraising events and creating programs that help members of our
community have more healthy lives, let’s work together to make a
difference. I welcome your ideas and your involvement. May meaningful
friendships and good luck come your way this St. Patrick’s Day!
Founders’ Circle
It’s unbelievable that on June 4, 2005, we begin the fifth and
final year of our Founders’ Circle Capital Campaign. On that day, we
will join together for the ever-popular Black and White Beach Ball to
celebrate the heartwarming generosity of our Founders’ Circle members.
These businesses, foundations and individuals believe that through
community and embracing diversity, we can all live fuller and richer
lives. To date, our 345 members have helped us raise $816,858 toward our
$1,000,000 five-year campaign goal.
We do not take our community’s generosity for granted but we do
know the strength of its commitment so we are optimistic that we will
all work together to make it happen. The whole CAMP building complex is
our home and each one of us owns a part of it, no matter how large or
small our contribution has been. It’s not about money or time; it’s
about community and relationships.
If you are a Founders’ Circle member, consider upgrading your
membership to a higher level or giving a gift of membership to a family
member or friend. CAMP Rehoboth is a 501(c)(3) organization and
contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. There
are many membership levels to choose from that meet almost any budget.
Even though it will be our last year of the actual Capital Campaign, you
can still pay your pledge over five years.
When you pledge, you become part of our community’s effort to make
a difference. Your name or the name of your loved one will be inscribed
in our official Founders’ Circle records and on our Wall of Founders.
Depending on your level, your name will be on an actual part of the
Community Center (a brick, a tile, a door or a room). Members receive
gifts and invitation(s) to the annual Founders’ Circle Black &
White Beach Ball, a popular event that is not to be missed.
It will be a proud moment when we officially open the doors of our
new building at 37 Baltimore Avenue. So, contact me, become a member and
be part of this wonderful community-building project. You never know, it
might bring you luck!
