Connections. Each month of the year has its own unique meaning for each
of us in our community. For many, March is the month in which we
celebrate St. Patrick’s Day together in friendship and harmony. It’s
a fun day for dressing in green to symbolize spring, Ireland and the
shamrock. We may even drink some green beer, eat corned beef and
cabbage, and wish everyone "may the luck of the Irish be with
you." One does not have to be of Irish descent to appreciate and
recognize its hero, St. Patrick, and to participate in their
time-honored tradition. Sharing traditions is part of the glue that
holds communities together. We celebrate our differences in a festive
way while gaining a greater understanding and acceptance of each other.
Whether it is through day-to-day interactions with others in our
community or at one of our special events, CAMP Rehoboth continues its
work of bringing the community together. A small part of building an
inclusive community is luck but much of it is hard work and
understanding on the part of all of us. Our CAMP heroes are those of you
who continuously give your ideas, love, and support. Every day we
celebrate your involvement and welcome new heroes to our community. Let’s
continue to celebrate the many things that symbolize our community. But
don’t forget to find that four-leaf clover and double your luck on St.
Patrick’s Day!
Founders’ Circle. On June 5, 2004, we will celebrate the
generosity of those of you in our community who are members of CAMP
Rehoboth’s Founders’ Circle Capital Campaign. We now have 247
dedicated members who have pledged as of our third year $631,934 toward
our goal of $1,000,000 over five years. Those members will join others
in the community who support our dream to build a full-service community
center, the only one of its kind in Delaware. The Founders’ Circle
Black & White Beach Ball is a special night of good friends, good
food and wonderful entertainment and fun. The HeART of the Community art
auction and preview promises to be one of the best, thanks to the
generosity and talents of all of the participating artists. The
entertainment, as always, will move you. Make your plans to attend a
worthwhile community cause.
If you are a Founders’ Circle member, we encourage you to consider
upgrading your membership to a higher level or giving a gift of
membership to a family member or friend. If you are not a member, we
encourage you to join today and help us meet our goal. Memberships are
investments in our community and are a unique way of being recognized
while taking advantage of a tax deductible contribution. CAMP Rehoboth
is a 501(c)(3) organization and contributions are tax deductible to the
fullest extent of the law. Your name or the name of a loved one will be
inscribed in our official Founders’ Circle records, on our Founders’
Circle "Thanks" list included in many issues of Letters from
CAMP Rehoboth and displayed in the CAMP office. Depending on the level,
your name or the name of a loved one will be on an actual part of the
Community Center (a brick, a tile, a door or a room). Members receive
cool recognition gift(s) and invitation(s) to the annual Founders’
Circle Black & White Beach Ball. You can pay by cash, check, or by
credit card (American Express, Mastercard and VISA) through a payment
plan that best suits your needs.
We want to encourage any Founders’ Circle member who has ideas,
questions or concerns to contact us. You have chosen to partner with us
in the Community Center Project and have made a generous investment in
your community. So, we need to hear from you to continue to strengthen
our relationship and obtain information on how we can better serve our
community members. When the community center is redesigned and
renovation is complete, what an accomplishment that will be on the part
of all of us. It will be a proud moment!
CAMP Grants. Capital grant applications continue to be worked on
for submission to various foundations. Grants for special programs and
services will be underway in the near future. If you have any
connections with grantors or have grant information that may be helpful,
please contact Andrea at the CAMP Rehoboth office.

Remember…good luck finding those four-leaf clovers and, if you do
find one, may loads of luck come your way! Or better yet, you may find
an Irish fairy, better known as a leprechaun, who possesses a hidden pot
of gold. Just don’t let him trick you and vanish!
