One of the social events of the spring took place on Sunday,
March 26 when John Guinto and Ronald Boyce celebrated their new life
together with a commitment ceremony at the Renegade Resort. The Reverend
Keith Goheen officiated as they exchanged their beautifully written
vows. Bob Mason and Lee Cook of Footlight Productions gave the guests
chills as they performed songs such as “The Impossible Dream,”
“This is the Moment,” and “All You Ask Of Me.”
A reception followed at Café Italiano with a cocktail hour
and full buffet. The crowd danced to the sounds of area
DJ and karaoke host Sandigirl, who played an assortment of music
from “I’ll Always Love You” to “It’s Raining Men.” Lee
Riddle did an incredible job making and decorating the 3 tier, 3 flavor
wedding cake of vanilla, chocolate, and banana. Following the reception,
a stretch Limousine awaited the happy couple to take them to a secret
destination.
On the home front, Debbie Smith proudly
sported her horse Sonny through the CAMP Courtyard after he
helped her raise the highest dollar amount at the Spring Beach Ride-Walk 2000,
a fundraiser to benefit the Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding
Program. The non-profit organization offers equine‑assisted
therapy for individual adults and children with disabilities and life
threatening diseases. The 10-mile journey took place at Cape
Henlopen State Park, where hundreds gathered to walk, ride, and watch as
money was pledged for each mile accomplished, totaling over $8500. For
more information on the programs available, call Katarina Burroughs at
