Carol Channing Comes to the Beach, Sort of!
Carol Channing (a/k/a Richard Skipper) will bring their New York show
here for one night only: Saturday, May 21, at Cape Henlopen High School. The
show is at 8 p.m., and will be followed by a reception for Richard (as
Carol!).
The show was recently reviewed in New York as: "...the immensely
talentedRichard Skipper continued his loving tribute to the funny lady in a
show that’s polished to perfection yet so light and airy that it almost
passes by us how detailed and well-crafted it is...as always, Mr. Skipper
perfectly mastered not only Ms. Channing’s distinctively raspy speaking
and singing voices, but also exuded the comedienne’s sassy yet warm
rapport with the audience. His show brings the talents of a classic
entertainer—and the feel of a classic era —to a whole new generation to
enjoy. And it still looks, sounds, and feels great." Richard is a
two-time winner of the MAC Award (Manhattan Association of Cabaret), the
Backstage Bistro Award, and was recently nominated for a Cooney Award from
his peers.
Tickets for the show are $25. Patrons’ ticket are $50, which includes
preferred front seating for the show, the reception for Richard/Carol after
the show, and special program listing. Tickets may be obtained by calling
Henlopen Theater Project at 302-226-4103.

Thai Yoga Massage at One Spirit Massage
One Spirit Massage Studio is now offering Thai Yoga Massage.
Thai yoga massage is an ancient healing art with roots in Hatha yoga,
Ayurvedic medicine, acupressure and Buddhist philosophy. This practice
originated in India over 2000 years ago and was brought to Thailand with the
spread of Buddhism, where it was practiced as a sacred temple therapy. As a
form of assisted yoga, Thai Yoga Massage incorporates rhythmic motion,
palming and thumbing along energy lines, gentle stretching and breathwork,
creating a slow, flowing "dance." Thai Massage improves
circulation, relieves muscular tension and spasm, boosts the immune system,
and balances the body energetically and spiritually.
To schedule an appointment, call 302-226-3552. One Spirit Massage Studio
is located at 169 Rehoboth Avenue.
