Sunnin’ and Funnin’
We’re taking the summer to kick back, put our toes in the sand and
do some planning! It’s a nice time to reflect on what we’ve
accomplished and on how we can do things that much better. We welcome
your ideas and feedback to continue to energize the project and to
ensure that we are meeting the needs of the women in our community.
The planning process will begin accelerating over the next couple of
weeks for the CAMP Rehoboth Women’s Project sponsored event for the
Mautner Project in early August at the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center.
It’s important to create relations with other organizations, to learn
from each other, and expand and support our communities in greater ways.
We need volunteers for a small committee to work with us and Mautner
Project representatives to plan a successful event.
We have several women artists in our community who are excited about
the women’s art fair being planned for this summer or early fall.
Weather permitting, the fair will be held mostly outdoors so that
attendees will have plenty of room to view the artists’ works. The
event will give women artists the opportunity to promote themselves. The
Women’s Project hopes to use the donations from such events to fund
outreach and similar arts programs.
The Rehoboth Beach Film Society and the Women’s Project are working
together to present a documentary on the lives of Phyllis Lyon and Del
Martin and their impact on our community. Titled No Secret Anymore: The
Times of Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon, the documentary is beginning to
receive wide circulation across the country. We are especially fortunate
to have the opportunity to see the film here in Rehoboth. We are working
on a date and location for the event, so watch for the announcement.
The Women’s Project Golf League is teeing off every Wednesday at
3:30 p.m. at the Marsh Island Golf Club in Lewes. Join them for loads of
fun and camaraderie at a great price! Don’t forget that Norma Clark is
also willing to help you perfect your swing. She is also giving lessons
to anyone in the league who is interested.
Remember, contact us if you wish to work on the Mautner Project or
the Women’s Art Fair or if you want to be on our e-mail list. Call
