Centaur Celebrates 10 Years of Pride
It is truly an exciting month for Centaur as they celebrate 10 fantastic
years of Gay Pride with a new Pride CD that carries on the annual tradition
of fun filled classics, all infused with a dance vibe and endless energy.
The newest mix features 12 songs that will take you on a journey through
time, criss-crossing genres and eras with familiar lyrics and melodies,
while offering a new perspective on songs that we know and love. Party
Groove: Pride 07 has arrived just in time for summer and will be in stores
nationwide on June 26.
"Centaur’s Pride CD series is the longest running annual series in
our catalog," says Centaur’s Jamie Baxter. "The great tradition
was started with Dj Julian Marsh in 1998 and it is now in the loving and
caring hands of Dj Max Rodriguez, who shares our vision to make the CD fun
and to put a smile on the face of many."
Rodriguez calls New York’s Chelsea establishment Splash Bar (SBNY) his
Dj home base, where he has held residency since it opened in 1991. Since
arriving in the city from his native New Orleans, Rodriguez has been the
featured Dj at New York City Pride several times, played at legendary
nightclubs includingPalladium, Limelight and Roxy, and he has also been a
musicalconsultant for the VH1 Fashion and Music Awards.
Party Groove: Pride 07 once again offers plenty for everyone, providing
updated dance remixes of some of the biggest songs to come from Cher, Shania
Twain, Laura Branigan, Bonnie Tyler, Sister Sledge and Alphaville. Also
included are new mixes of past Billboard #1 hits "Above The
Clouds" by Amber and "Stand Up," as well as Thelma Houston’s
Grammy Award winning song "Don’t Leave Me This Way."
Party Groove: Pride 07 is available in stores nationwide, and online at
centaurmusic.com where visitors can listen to samples of every track on the
album.

Blue Moon Bachelor Auction Sets Record
Fourteen bachelors, some eligible and some not so, took the stage at the
annual Blue Moon Bachelor Auction, Saturday, June 16 to raise $20,400 in
support of Love 2007, a benefit for CAMP Rehoboth and the Sussex County AIDS
Council. With Miss Richfield 1981 serving as auctioneer—assisted by Mona
Lotts—the crowd grew more and more generous as the evening progressed.
The high bidders were treated to dinner with the bachelors at either the
Blue Moon, Eden, or Aqua. A special highlight was Blue Moon Chef Lion
Gardner’s turn on the auction block where the winner received dinner for
six prepared by Lion at their home. We’re pretty sure that Lion’s wife
Meghan will be there to lend a hand. Pictured: Josh Love (left) and Sterling
Townsend with Miss Richfield.

CAMP Golf Classic Scores a Hole-In-One
While no hole-in-one was literally scored, the participants, volunteers,
and beneficiaries of the second annual CAMP Rehoboth Golf Classic on June 22
left the event feeling as good as if they had scored one. The weather was
picture perfect, the course bright and green, the food delicious, and the
fun non-stop. Pictured are the first place team of Wendy Bunce, Sara
Cavendish, Jill Masterman and Tammy Jackson. Photos of the second and third
place teams are in CAMPshots.
New Technology Is Feature of Lewes Photography Show
The Packard Reath Gallery’s summer show will highlight the new and
original photography of Philadelphia artist Ron Tarver. The World in a Grain
of Sand opens on Saturday, June 30th with a reception for the artist from 5
to 7 p.m. The show will remain on view until July 27th. The public is
cordially invited to attend the opening reception.
With minimal digital manipulation, Tarver produces images that harken
back to photograms, as he creates uncharted universes from tiny found
objects. He also uses very small lights to illuminate the objects, creating
a sense of depth.
The Packard Reath Gallery is located at 109 West Market Street in Lewes,
DE (above Café Azafran). For more information on the gallery and this show:
