mental ward for his adamant belief that he is actually country and western
legend Tammy Wynette.

Le Cabaret Mélange at Cloud 9
In 2001, gender-bending chanteuse Jeffrey Marsh began collaboration with
guitarist Rick Sorkin to create a music-based theatrical act designed to
blur classic cabaret "professional showmanship" with contemporary
style. In addition to celebrating the sounds of Kurt Weill, Bertolt Brecht,
Kandor & Ebb, Lou Reed, and The Beatles, this one-of-a-kind twenty-first
century new-wave cabaret also writes and performs their own original
material.
After a short time, a devoted following arose to support both Marsh and
Sorkin. Radio personality and Peabody™ Award-winning producer Robert Drake
had a eureka moment when he saw the act, and he immediately located an
extravagant venue atop a swank creperie that would become the perfect
backdrop for Le Cabaret Mélange.
Within a month, Marsh and Sorkin were booked weekly, and consistently
drew audiences looking for something more than the standard fare. Rounded
out by Noah Farber on piano and Jefferson Kidd on drums, Le Cabaret Mélange
continued to blend traditional 20th century French and German cabaret with
musical theater selections, pop music deconstruction, comedy, and audience
interaction in a new and exciting way.
Le Cabaret Mélange will perform at Cloud 9 on Wednesday, July 20, as a
benefit for the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center. For information, see page 9,
or call Cloud 9 at 226-1999.
