Connections
July is the middle of summer, yet there is still so much time left
for our community to have fun in the sun together. Summer is the time
when we go to the CAMP courtyard to relax and swim in a "see"
of old and new friends. We also can join in CAMP "sing-alongs"
when entertainers within our community perform there. In the CAMP
"main cabin", many "campers" help in setting up
events; working on mailings; and just getting involved in projects that
need to be done. One of the "campiest" events of the year is
coming up. CAMP Follies will have our most daring and talented
"campers" performing some of the most hilarious skits ever.
They’ll be vying for best "CAMP Skit of the Year" so
competition is fierce. July is also "Anti-Boredom Month." If
you observe it, you should plan to see CAMP Follies. You will hardly be
bored because you won’t stop laughing long enough! Going to CAMP is a
fantastic summer adventure and an equally fantastic way to connect with
a wonderful community of caring and interesting "campers." See
you there!
Founders’ Circle
Speaking of "CAMPers," the "CAMPer of the Year"
award goes to each of our Founders’ Circle members who have generously
and unselfishly given to our Capital Campaign "pool." Since
the Black and White Beach Ball on June 5th, we have 15 new "CAMPers"
for a total of 281. Those 15 and other members who have upgraded their
memberships have pledged over $35,000 so our "pool" is now at
the $713,993 mark early in the fourth year of the campaign. Part of the
growth in pledges came from some members of our community who hosted
special events that benefited CAMP’s Capital Campaign. Our thanks to
Bill Gunning and Joe Greoski (who celebrated their 25th anniversary);
Kevin Litschgi and Hank Thomas (who hosted the fabulous "Hat
Party"); and Chuck Flanagan and George Whitehouse (who held the
"July 3rd Party"). One word sums it all up…WOW!
