Rodney Cook Watercolors at the Blue Moon
|
On August 1, the Blue Moon
Restaurant welcomes back popular watercolor artist Rodney Cook. Rodney's
new "watercolors of Rehoboth," called The Sun and the Moon,
features beaches, skies, and buildings easily recognized by Rehoboth
visitors.
"This is the first time I’ve really painted Rehoboth,"
says the artist, "and I tried to find a really unique way to
approach looking at the beach." Rod explains that the concept for
the show began by painting skies—"bright, dark, sunset, sunrise,
and changing weather." He then progressed to beach grass, sand
dunes, and the buildings that represented Rehoboth, especially the Blue
Moon and some of the other country Victorian homes that are an essential
part of the character of Rehoboth.
The opening reception for The Sun and Moon is Saturday, August 2,
from 2-4 p.m. at the Blue Moon. Rehoboth lovers will especially enjoy
this show.
