Follies' Auction

On Saturday, July 27 the curtain at the Rehoboth Convention Center will rise on the long awaited CAMP Rehoboth Follies 2002. As a part of the evening’s entertainment (and to pass the time between skits) 12 items will be auctioned.

So you’ll have time to decide just what it is you can’t live without, (and to thank those who donated) here are the auction items for Follies 2002.

1. Saint Poster

The legendary Saint nightclub comes to life once again in this beautifully framed poster from one of its famous Night People Parties. The Poster is beautifully framed by Robert Gold and Larry Hooker from Coastal Frameshop and Gallery on Route 1.

2. Weekend For Two

There’s nothing like a weekend for two in glamorous New York City to add a little romance to your life. The Clarion Hotel on 5th Avenue puts you in the heart of Manhattan and includes breakfast in the hotel restaurant.

3. Framed Triptych

Former Colt photographer Chris Costas has donated a triptych of three nudes. Printed in sultry sepia tones, the photographs are sure to add a special and exciting touch to any home.

4. Woven Rattan Trunk

Mark Showell, one of Rehoboth’s premier designers, and owner of the prestigious Mark Showell Interiors on Baltimore Avenue has donated a woven rattan trunk on a two foot high wrought iron stand.

5. Full Page/ Full Year Ad in Letters from CAMP Rehoboth

As countless satisfied customers can attest, advertising in Letters from CAMP Rehoboth works. This ad will run in all 15 of the 2003 issues.

6. Rod Cook Painting

Well known Baltimore and Rehoboth artist Rodney Cook has donated an original oil painting of orchids titled Phalaenosis. Rod’s latest show opens at the Blue Moon on August 1.

7. Dinner for Four

Dr. Jim D’Orta will graciously open his legendary home in September or October to provide dinner for four, prepared by the chef from Georgetown’s Café Milano, and served by a former Buckingham Palace butler to Queen Elizabeth II. Dr. D’Orta’s home is the former Harriman mansion on N Street in Washington’s Georgetown neighborhood.

8. Teak Bench

Wooden Village Teak on Rehoboth Avenue has donated a beautiful hand carved, hand made, teak bench.

9. Cobalt Party

Washington’s Cobalt on 17th Street has donated a one hour party with an open bar (rail only) with decorations to fit the occasion, a DJ, and one of their handsome bartenders.

10. Gary Fisher Painting

Washington and Rehoboth artist Gary Fisher has donated another of his popular Beach Shack paintings.

11. Two American Airline Tickets

UGO Girl Travel and American Airlines have teamed up to provide two tickets to anywhere in the Continental USA or Canada, including Alaska. Anywhere American Airlines goes, you can go too.
