Tod was known for his quick wit, his love
of dancing, his ability to get things done, and his love of automobiles.
Taz found a home in Rehoboth where he could be himself and grow in
spirit. His strength was manifested in his fight with the disease that
affects the lives so many in the gay community.
Tod is survived by his spiritual partner
and caregiver, Dave Patterson, his best friends, Mike Schilling and Jim
Hipp, as well as many friends who shared in his journey.
A memorial service to celebrate Tod’s
life and rebirth will be held Sunday, August 18, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the
home of Dave Patterson, Mike Schilling, and Bill Shiley, RR #3 Box 522
Midway Acres, Rehoboth Beach. Call 302-644-7136 for directions.
Ed Imwalle, 48, died
from AIDS complications on Sunday July 14, 2002. He was at home,
surrounded
by John Mank, his partner of 7 years, and many friends and family.
Born in NY, Ed resided in numerous
places, making his home in Baltimore for many years. After coming to
Rehoboth, his dream was to move here. For the last 4 years, he was here
permanently.
His careers spanned many areas: teacher,
charity worker, and corporate trainer. He assisted with various AIDS
organizations, helped on fundraisers, and recently served on the board
of Sussex County AIDS Committee.
During Ed’s life, family and friends
were the most important thing to him. He was friend, guide, and
spiritual advisor to many. He gave of himself till the end, donating his
body for AIDS research. He will be sorely missed by many.
A memorial service for Ed will be held in
September. Donations can be made to Sussex County AIDS Committee in
Rehoboth or Brother Help Thyself in Baltimore/Washington.
