As I write these words I realize suddenly that today is September 11—both the fourth anniversary of the destruction of the World Trade Towers in New York, and the one year anniversary of the death of our dog Sam. September has always felt a little nostalgic to me, and this year, with the terrible disaster in New Orleans still fresh in our minds and on our TVs, it seems especially poignant.

September is a time of seasonal transition, a time of change. It is the end of the summer season and the beginning of the harvest time. It is a time to both celebrate the summer and prepare ourselves for the coming cold of winter. It is the perfect time for reflection and the making of plans. It is the perfect time to look back at where we’ve been and look forward to the months ahead.

In the big scheme of things this summer was much like any other. For CAMP Rehoboth it was both difficult and exciting—for the same reason—as we moved into our new Community Center space just days before the season began. All of us know that we have a lot a work to do in the coming months and years, not just on the physical space but in developing programs and procedures for the future. But right now, in this beautiful month of September, we have a brief respite to enjoy the fruits of another summer season.

So for today I will exchange words for images and leave it at that. Here then are some scenes of summer 2005. Can you name them?
