CAMP Rehoboth Community Center Founder's Circle Update

by Andrea Andrus

Connecting The Old And The New

Have you ever thought about what each month of the year really means to each of us individually and as a community? As we enter the month of October with its seasonal changes and bright blue weather, it seems that there is more of a balance between night and day. We seem to always experience something important yet different going on at this time of the year. It is a time of transition when the air is cooler, the leaves change color and the breezes flow differently. Especially as the leaves change color and drop to the ground, it gives us a sense that the old is dying and something new is being born. This time of the year gives us a sense of closure after a warm and busy summer but, in turn, gives us a sense of expectation for the changes that lie ahead.

At CAMP Rehoboth, our major educational and fundraising events for the year have successfully taken place. It’s now time to reflect on what we have learned from our community during those events and to redefine our plans going forward. Your support and ideas give such great meaning to our efforts and they pave the way for changes that will connect all of us in a community of heart and hope.

It is no accident that 221 members of the Founders’ Circle have pledged $588,228 thus far to our Capital Campaign. They and our volunteers are truly angels who give from the heart and give more than is ever expected. We are forever grateful! When we reach our $1,000,000 goal, it will be an event that will further define us as a community in terms of strength and solidarity. So, we do believe that October is definitely a gift. It is the time when we are getting ready to do those things that will help us reach our goal and move our community forward. To achieve those things, we need each of you to reflect on your individual role in our community and what you can do to partner with us to accomplish extraordinary things.

If you are not a member of the Founders’ Circle, join with us to build our community’s home for all by completing the pledge form in this issue of Letters. It’s definitely the time of year to make a tax-deductible contribution that will make a difference to you in many ways. CAMP Rehoboth is a 501(c)(3) organization and contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. You can pay by cash, check or by credit card and according to a payment plan that is best for you. Membership does have many other benefits. At every membership level, your name or the name of a loved one will be inscribed in our official Founders’ Circle records, and, depending on your level, on an actual part of the Community Center (a brick, a tile, a door or a room). To further show our appreciation, you will also receive great member gifts and an invitation to one of the most fabulous events of the year, the annual Founders’ Circle Black and White Beach Ball.

Don’t forget, for those of you who are already members, you can upgrade your membership at any time simply by contacting me at the CAMP office. For those of you who work for companies with matching gift programs, they enable you to pledge at a higher level. Founder’s Circle memberships also make great gifts for that special occasion. Make the most of the meaning of October and join with us to make changes happen!

"Keep me walking, October road. Keep me walking in the sunshine, yeah, a little friend of mine…October road!" (From James Taylor’s October Road)
