The all-volunteer organization seeks to enhance the quality of life for Persons Living with AIDS, and, specifically, to empower and to contribute to the longevity of Long-Term Survivors of AIDS by providing isolation-reducing and supportive programs, activities and environments; to increase the level of care and nurture/concern for the Long-Term Survivor; to assure that adequate services are obtained; and to insure that public awareness of AIDS and a positive perception of the Long-Term Survivor are advanced. P.L.Active's programs cover a range of needs from direct emotional and psychological support (like the Bereavement Program) to government and private agency assistance and general advocacy.
The Bereavement Support Group will be held every Thursday for 6 weeks beginning April 4, 1997, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Parish House, 2nd Street and Mulberry, Lewes, DE. There is a small charge for those who are still working. Financial assistance will be arranged for those on disability. The group will be professionally facilitated. For further information and/or to sign up, call Sean Venable, Administrator, (302) 226-0387.
