Elizabeth Gundry Hooper of Rehoboth Beach died Thursday, November 25, 1999, in her home. She was 75.
Mrs. Hooper was born on July 25, 1924, in Baltimore. She spent her summers in Rehoboth Beach at her aunt and uncle's inn, the Corner Cupboard. She purchased the inn in 1974 and continued the family tradition of hospitality and quality inn keeping. She began her career in Falls Church, Virginia, with the Dittmar Company of Fairfax, Virginia. Mrs. Hooper was a community activist and political watchdog, a member of The League of Women Voters, served on the board of the Delaware Department of Transportation, was president of the Rehoboth Beach Historical Society, a founding member of the local Restaurant Association and a member of the Anglican Parish of St. James, Georgetown, Delaware.
