It's hard to believe that just 4 weeks ago you needed a sled and a snow shovel to get around, and now it's warm enough to lie on the beach in a bathing suit. The last couple of weekends felt like summer with the warm temperatures and crowds coming into town. If you've been out and about lately you must have noticed all the additions and changes happening in the area. Acropolis opened on February 4th in Something Special's previous location with a large selection of antiques, artifacts, and accessories, while Something Special relocated to 32 Rehoboth Avenue where the Sea Wood Restaurant used to be. Confetti's Restaurant left the rooftop of the Henlopen Hotel and will occupy Mano's old location at 10 Wilmington Avenue. Air Traffic took off from the Village by the Sea Shops and landed at 1150 West Savannah Road in Lewes just past the railroad tracks and Heavens Angels moved from 216 Rehoboth Avenue to 1014 Highway One in Lewes. Panache, a new member of the Rehoboth Mews, will open on April 22, offering fine contemporary crafts for the home. Thank God Lori's Caf is reopening this month!!! Half the town has been on Chicken Salad withdrawal all winter. Loyal fans have been waiting anxiously for her return to the CAMP courtyard along with the new spring menu. Other favorites opening in March are Delmarva BBQ with their "to die for" smoked chicken and ribs and Our Place Restaurant featuring authentic Central and South American dishes. Keep your eyes open and get your taste buds ready as other popular restaurants like Fusion, Yum Yum and Eden Garden, to name a few, open their doors for another season. Happy Birthday to Brian Friend who celebrated with several pals including Duane Lyon, Alan Bautch, Joey Talley, Kenny LeCates, Clif Waters and Martin Hall at the Renegade Resort as they danced to the sounds of DJ Jeff Harrison. Other familiar faces on the dance floor were Lambda Rising's Gretchen Clausen and Sharon Evans. Congratulations to Jenn Taylor and Guenna Hartman on their 2nd anniversary together. Cloud 9 Restaurant and Kennie Russell will present 2 spectacular shows to benefit Children with AIDS on Saturday, March 18 starting at 10 p.m. The night will include raffles, prizes, and performances by entertainers Monika Michaels, Annastasia, Leighanne Richards, Georgie Michaels, and Kennie Russell. If you haven't caught the Pro-Jam Players, featuring the talent of musicians AJ (Red Letter Day), Regina AaMacha (Blue Raven), Kenny Martin (Hot Rods), Keith Mack (Funsters), and more, you can catch them every Wednesday at 9 p.m. at the Frogg Pond. Happy St. Patrick's Day, and see you around town.Jenn Taylor and Guenna Hartman. Clif Waters and Martin Hall. Duane Lyon and Alan Bautch. Joey Talley and Kenny LeCates.
