What a Rush! |

In case you haven't noticed, beach house hunting season is in full swing. It's the time of year where people from all over the mid-Atlantic region weigh their options and select for themselves a summer-time dwelling, which lasts roughly from May to September. The kick-off to this intense season of searching is known to many as the Beach House Rush Party, which completed its seventh rotation on February 6th. The Rush Party is host to hundreds of people, some who are leaseholders looking to sell shares in their house, and others who are looking to buy a share in a housea perfect match. This year's Rush Party had a lively attendance of approximately 300 beach-goers. What's more, if you were one of the lucky people to win one of the extremely generous door prizes, then you probably made out like a champ. But putting together such an enjoyable event doesn't happen overnight. It takes a lot of hands, and credit should be given where credit is due. A list of businesses and people who were involved (and deserve thanks) is included at the end of this article. I hope you will patronize the businesses and acknowledge the individuals whenever you can. If you are one of the many folks still searching for that perfect place to stay this summerdon't give up! Here are some helpful tips to guide you in your search: Visit www.BeachHouseNetwork.com. This is the official Rehoboth Beach House website where you can find houses selling shares, people seeking shares, and summer rentals on a weekly and monthly basis. Check the site often because new listings pop up from time to time. Check the classifieds section of the Washington Blade or the newspaper of your city under the heading "Summer Getaways" or "Beach Getaways." There is always an ad by someone selling shares in his or her beach house. You will be surprised how many you will find in the coming months. Check Bulletin Boards. Lambda Rising, most gyms, coffee shops, and other establishments in your neighborhood usually have them. Take a second to look them over. You never know what you will find. Be Proactive. The next time you are out in a bar or club or with friends on the street, ask them if they know of anyone who has a beach house in Rehoboth. Tell them you are looking for a share. If you keep at it, you will most definitely stumble upon a lead. Remember: Six Degrees of Separation!!! See you on the beach!
