Gunnar Plake Seascapes at Edward Carter Gallery |
The work of Easton, Maryland photographer Gunnar Plake is featured in a special exhibition, entitled "Seascapes," at The Edward Carter Gallery in Lewes, Delaware, November 25 through January 7, 2001. A reception for the artist will be held at the gallery on Saturday, November 25 from 5-7 p.m. The public is invited to attend. Gunnar's photography is almost exclusively interpretive landscapesfrom trees, to western big sky country, to this current series of seascapes debuting at The Edward Carter Gallery. Although this exhibition is entitled "Seascapes" this work includes a number of eastern shore images that reflect the serenity of the tidal lowlands. The prints in the Plake exhibition are unique. Each is printed in an edition of 3 plus 2 artists' proofs. The unique color prints are laminated and mounted on anodized aluminum. There is no glass to distort the image and the light seems to come from within the photograph. In addition to "Seascapes," The Edward Carter Gallery will be featuring a special show in celebration of their First Anniversary, with a piece from each of the artists that they have exhibited this year. The Edward Carter Gallery is located at The Inn at Canal Square, 122 Market Street, Lewes, Delaware. Winter hours are 11 a.m to 5 p.m. Thursday through Monday. |
