We Remember Jimmy Buccalo a.k.a. Buc

Jimmy Buccalo, known to most of us as the incredibly talented disc jockey Buc, died December 31, 2001. He was 41.

Buc will always be in our souls because of the joy he brought to all who knew him through his gift of music.

Buc was a talented and renowned disc jockey who loved life, his many friends, and music, which he used as his artistic medium. His influence on the circuit scene is immeasurable. His spinning captivated audiences in New York, Fire Island, Miami, Atlanta, New Orleans, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Rehoboth Beach, Washington, D.C., Chicago and places as far away as Greece and Brazil. Always the innovator, Buc could be counted on to spin songs that no one had ever heard before. Buc considered his journey in this world "Buc's Big Adventure."

Buc moved to Atlanta in 1985 and quickly rose to national and international acclaim by spinning music at circuit parties and major events. Buc had a dedicated following with his tape club producing hundreds of compilations under the Mixed Emotions label. He also commercially produced two compact discs under the Sony label and one under the Tremor label.

Buc is survived by his sister Joice Kenny of Philadelphia, PA and brother Don Buccalo of Miami, FL. He is also survived by his many close friends whom he considered family.

Buc's legacy to us all will be the many memories from past events, his friendship to all who knew him personally, and most far reaching, his music. As Buc in his own words said, "I hope these songs move you in some way, be it your snapping fingers, your soul and hopefully your dancing feet, and makes you feel as good as it does me. The rhythms, the words, the melodies...hear them."
