In Brief |
Workshop for Gay and Lesbian Couples On the weekend of September 26-28, 2003, a Getting the Love You Want weekend workshop will take place at Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
Based on the work of Harville Hendrix, author of Getting the Love You Want and co-founder of Imago Realtionship Therapy, the weekend provides the opportunity for couples to safely and privately explore their journey, both as an individual and as a couple. Couples can expect to gain: a new sense of the sacred space in their relationship; new communication skills for cleansing the space; greater compassion for each other's story; new tools for turning conflicts into opportunities for healing and growth; a new desire and design for releasing their joy together; and, an expansion of their capacity to dream their highest dreams together. Donna Reeves Bowman, LCSW-C and David L. Bowman, MDiv of Frederick, Maryland are two of 1,900 Imago therapists located throughout the world. As a couple, David and Donna have used the Imago concepts and skills both in their personal life together and in their professional work for many years. These experiences are the source of their enthusiasm, passion, and commitment to share the power and potential of the Imago process with all couples. Donna and David may be reached at 301-898-0527. Antique Show Returns to Rehoboth Beach The 7th Annual Delaware Coast Antique Show and Sale is scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, September 5, 6, and 7 at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. This event will showcase the merchandise of 35 select exhibitors offering an amazing variety of antiques, particularly considering its size. According to show manager, Melvin L. Arion of Laurel, DE, the range will include 18th and 19th century English and American period furniture, as well as primitive and country American furniture, fine early glassware, porcelain and pottery such as Chinese Export, Canton, Imari, Staffordshire, stoneware, and redware, Oriental rugs, quilts and other textiles, antique estate jewelry, fine paintings, Orientalia, bronzes, and silver. Explained Arion, "Rehoboth Beach is a year-round residential community, as well as an affluent resort that is a second home to people from Philadelphia, Wilmington, Baltimore, and Washington. September is a popular month here because of the mild weather." His goal has been to establish, "a quality collector/dealer show with affordable antiques." This increasingly popular event would indicate he's succeeding in achieving that goal. This year's edition will feature seven new participants: Zoran Stamenic Tribal Oriental Rugs and Textiles, Arlington and Cynthia Unger's Sterling of Virginia Beach, both from Virginia, Maryland dealers Myrtle Coleman, Bethlehem and Charles Upham of Mardela Springs, and three from DelawareAntique Prints, Ocean View, Milt Chaski Antique Alley of Millsboro, and Delaware Avenue Antique Emporium from Laurel.
