| Stellar Bingo-A-Go-Go at the Beach
Join the "Stars" as Bingo-A-Go-Go hits the beach with an event on Saturday, August 26th at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center. Bingo-A-Go-Go is a fundraising benefit for AIDS Delaware, Delaware Pride, Rainbow Chorale of Delaware, and the Metropolitan Community Church of Rehoboth. The theme for this event is "Regards to Broadway" and will have 15 games and many, many prizes. The night will also feature our "Tony Award Winning" beautiful ladies. Bingo-A-Go-Go allows participants to have fun while supporting services that benefit our community. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes relating to the theme. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the first game will be called at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance and can be purchased at the AIDS Delaware office or from any member of Delaware Pride, at MCC Rehoboth, at CAMP Rehoboth at 37 Baltimore Ave., The Pelican Loft at 49 Baltimore Ave. and Partners Bistro at 404 Rehoboth Ave. Tickets will be $15 at the door. It's the most fun you can have without the risk of heartbreak! Gay Opera Group Begins 2nd Season The Gay Rehoboth Opera Group (GROG) will inaugurate its second season with a showing of Tosca by Giacomo Puccini on October 2 at 7 p.m. The cast includes Placido Domingo, Raina Kabaivanska and Sherrill Milnes. To add to the realism of this story of love and double-cross, the film was shot at the actual locations where the action takes place. GROG meets the first Monday of each month from October through May at the clubhouse in the Landings in Rehoboth Beach. For more information, call Evan Bush (933-0944) or Bill Lytle (226-0248). Items Needed for HIV/AIDS Clients Throughout September, the Ministry for Black Catholics will be holding a collection drive for personal care items to benefit the HIV/AIDS ministry of Catholic Charities. Deodorant, hand/body lotion, shaving cream, and toothpaste are the most needed items. Others include shampoo, bath size bar soap, conditioner, disposable razors, SOFT bristle toothbrushes, and baby powder. Donated items can be dropped off at CAMP Rehoboth, 37 Baltimore Ave. in Rehoboth Beach. Pop Rocks Shows Jeff Schaller Art Pop Rocks Art Gallery, located in the CAMP Rehoboth courtyard at 39 Batlimore Avenue, announces its season finale gallery reception and showing featuring the works of Jeff Schaller. The artist's reception is Saturday, August 26 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The reception will also feature the acoustic guitar music of local artist Paul Snyder. Cowboy Code: Photographs by Wouter Deruytter Belgium-born photographer Wouter Deruytter turns his lens on the American West in his latest show presented by the Packard Reath Gallery at Coastal Frame-shop and Gallery, 4284 Coastal Hwy. in Rehoboth Beach. The public is invited to the opening reception, Saturday, August 26 from 4 to 6 p.m. This show will remain on view through October 8.
