LETTERS From CAMP Rehoboth |
SPEAK Out |
Yesterday all the state of Delaware won an important victory with the primary win by Jack Markell in the governor's race. This victory was especially heartening for the GLBT community. Jack is a believer in equal rights for all Delawareans.
More important than his words is his promise to actually pay more than lip service and ensure that the state non-discrimination bill is finally passed by putting the full weight of his administration behind it. Jack Markell has stated Delaware can do better and with his experience and forward looking ideas and plans of action it undoubtedly will do better. We must all remember though that this was only a primary and Jack needs our full support to win in November. Do whatever you can to support Jack through contributions or volunteering. We are finally close to equality in Delaware and we all owe our best efforts to make it happen. Larry Hooker I just wanted to tell you what a wonderful time team Roxy and I had volunteering at Sundance this past weekend. It was such a wonderful event and I look forward to being a part of it for many years to come. I also just wanted to reaffirm my enthusiasm about helping with further CAMP Rehoboth events both big and small. I feel very passionate and fortunate about being able to make sure that my time as Miss Delaware & Regional is useful both as an entertainer and a spokesperson and volunteer for my community. I feel that now is a pivotal time for our community and we must get the next generation to understand that serving your community is an important and rewarding part of life. Well it seems as though I have gotten on my soapbox again so I guess I'll step down now. Sparkles & Splendor, Roxy Miss Delaware and Regional 2009 Another season comes to a close. Many memories to cherish. I can't thank you all for everything you have done, not only for me but the community also. Again I look forward to being a part of the CAMP family.
