Concert Dates: February 6, 7, and 8
The CAMP Rehoboth Chorus enthusiastically continues weekly rehearsals for their 2015 concert program: And the Winner Is…. Walk down the red carpet to hear well-known songs that have received awards, such as the Grammy, Oscar, or Country Music Award. The wide-ranged repertoire will include such favorites as “Friends in Low Places, Bridge Over Troubled Water, God Bless the USA, You Raise Me Up,” and a spirited Disney medley.
On October 20 the annual chorus photo was taken by professional photographer Sue Fortier who used a robot-controlled camera to take aerial shots on the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk. The photo shoot attracted quite a bit of attention, giving the Chorus some on-the-spot PR!
The Chorus has once again received a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts. University of the Eastern Shore Maryland’s music faculty member Marcelle Schiff, Ph.D., lead two workshops for members of the chorus, teaching breathing techniques and body movement to support singing. The Chorus members certainly enjoyed and benefited from the sessions.
Ticket sales and grants cannot fully support the CAMP Rehoboth Chorus, so besides rehearsing, each chorister has been diligently soliciting businesses to purchase ads in its 2015 printed program. Chorus members are proud to announce that all of the premium spot placements (inside front cover, inside back cover, and back cover) have already been sold! Chorus teamwork, as usual, has paid off.
Now is the time to mark your calendar and purchase tickets for the February 2015 Concerts! Due to two sold-out concerts last year, three are scheduled at Epworth United Methodist Church on Holland Glade Road just off Route 1 in Rehoboth Beach for Friday, February 6, at 7 p.m; Saturday, February 7, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, February 8, at 3 p.m. Remember, these tickets make great holiday gifts/stocking stuffers! Be thinking of friends and family who would enjoy just such an experience. Tickets are $20, and go on sale at CAMP Rehoboth Community Center beginning December 8, 2014 in person, by phone, (302) 227-5620, or online at camprehoboth.com. If none of the February dates are convenient, mark your calendar for the encore concert at a new venue, Delaware Tech in Georgetown, for Sunday, March 29, 2015 at 3 p.m. An announcement of when those tickets will be available will be made at a future date, so please stay tuned!
Please spread the word about CAMP’s choral performances. The Chorus would love to fill all of those seats, now that they have an expanded schedule. They promise it’s going to be an award winning show!
