CROP Goes Green!
June was all about healthy living for CROP! On June 6th, a CROP team of 14 once again participated in National Trails Day along with many other volunteers to maintain the trails and other areas of Cape Henlopen State Park. This time our team included six children from CAMP families. We were assigned to the beach at Herring Point, where we went “beach combing” for litter. The kids had great fun while contributing to preserving the beauty of Herring Point. We received many expressions of thanks from the surf fishermen there.
Then CROP rocked at VegFest! On June 13, two shifts of CROP volunteers spent a very “fruitful” day helping out Veg Rehoboth with their annual VegFest festival held at Epworth Methodist Church. CROP was there to help wherever needed, from filling goodie bags for attendees, to setting up tents, to manning information tables. The festival organizers were genuinely grateful for our assistance. In fact, they said we rocked!
Don’t veg out! Sign up for one of these upcoming projects today! July 13, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Delaware Food Bank, Milford Branch. Whether sorting food or preparing coolers for kids’ summer programs, volunteering at the Food Bank is varied, busy and fun! Ten volunteers make a team and we can use some more. Contact Bob Hoffer.
