Dignity for Trans Youth

Andrea Rashbaum

Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. (5:30 p.m. CST)

All ages are invited to join us for a "Dignity for Trans Youth" conversation with Andrea Rashbaum (she/her), on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. (5:30 p.m. CST). Andrea will discuss how to create safer, supportive schools! Be an effective advocate for yourself and/or transgender and gender-expansive youth. Hear the personal journey of a local activist in the State of Delaware as she discusses the experience of navigating the rights of LGBTQIA+ youth in education. By the end of this workshop, you will better understand the current state of trans rights within Delaware as well as in the nation.

Here's a bio on Andrea:

Andrea Rashbaum is the parent of a transgender female who began transitioning 10 years ago. She is also a certified teacher and reading specialist in the State of Delaware. Once her child transitioned, Andrea quickly learned that there were very few protections for trans youth when it came to education. In addition to advocating individually, Andrea is the co-founder of PTK Delaware and a member of PFLAG Wilmington as well as Delaware PRIDE Council.
