There are over 1400 reported instances of hate crimes based on sexual orientation in the US each year. Hate related homicide of LGBTQ people increased 86% from 2016 to 2019.

CAMP Rehoboth is dedicated to keeping our community safe and we are committed to being a key resource for personal safety and training among family, friends and allies.

Please join us for the VIPR and Stop The Bleed training program.

Our first part of the evening will be our Violent Intruder Preparedness & Response (VIPR) training program taught by Master Corporal Angel Garnsey. The training program is designed for unarmed citizens and built on the “Run, Hide, Fight” strategy. The objectives of the training are: 1) Increase situational awareness of active shooter events; 2) Provide examples of barricading confined spaces and considerations for utilizing self-defense options; 3) Demonstrate basic emergency casualty care tactics for the injured.

Our second part of the evening will be led by Karen Terzaghi of the Emergency Medical Services and Preparedness Section for Delaware. Stop The Bleed is a grassroots effort to encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. Karen will teach us how to recognize life threatening bleeding, how to properly use a tourniquet and how to apply direct pressure and pack wounds.

Event begins at 6 pm on March 30, 2020 at the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center, 37 Baltimore Ave. Space is limited. Individuals interested in attending must register. To register, click on the Eventbrite link below.
