Maureen McGovern Sings at 1776 Midway Stage |
Maureen McGovern, celebrating her 25th anniversary in show business, will give four performances at The Midway Stage at 1776 Classic American Steakhouse, August 18-20. Shows are scheduled for 9:30 p.m. on Thursday and Saturday, and on Friday evening at 8:30 and 10:30 p.m.
McGovern is currently appearing as Madame Emery in The Umbrellas of Cherbourg at the Sundance Theatre Festival. She has just completed a sold out cabaret season at the Algonquin's Oak Room in New York. Her recent portrayal as Mary Turner in George Gershwin's Of Thee I Sing at the Freud Playhouse in Los Angeles received rave reviews. Ken and Linda Butler, owners of the 1776 Classic American Steakhouse, opened The Midway Stage at 1776 on June 19. The Stage's performance schedule includes five upcoming starstudded shows including Lainie Kazan and Her Trio and The 1776 Jazz Orchestra who will perform at the 1776 Millennium Ball and First Night Celebration. The 1776 Jazz Orchestra plays big band dance music each Saturday night. The Midway Stage at the 1776 Classic American Steakhouse, located at 4950 Highway One, Suite 1776, Rehoboth Beach, DE, serves dinner seven days a week. Tickets for each performance are $49.
