Tis the season... you can feel it in the air. Christmas trees, decorations, lights and music. The magical time when a total stranger will glance over, smile and say hello. Images of Santa and gift ideas everywhere you turn. Thanksgiving marks the official start of the holiday season until that final countdown when the ballor should I say "Ruby Slipper?drops at midnight on New Year's Eve. Where else but in Rehoboth Beach, can your entire Yule Tide agenda be met? Between the Ocean Outlets and Downtown shops, there is no better place to find the perfect gift for that special someone. Last Saturday, I found a great gift idea when Lee Cook invited James Warren and me to see the musical Broadway Babble, presented by Footlight Productions at The Lamp Post Restaurant. The cast, which included Becki Polk, Joe Scaturro, Bob Mason, and Richard Lee Cook captivated the audience with their incredible performances. They have a return engagement starting December 3 with the musical review of Home for the Holidays. The dinner theater offers live entertainment, preceded by dinner from their full course buffet, for just $33 per person, including gratuity. For reservations or for information call 302-645-7220. The festivities over the past couple of months had an enormous turnout. With events like Autumn Jazz, Halloween and The Independent Film Festival, how could it not? And... it's still not over!!! Happy 2nd Anniversary to the Double L Bar. They will celebrate with a big bash on New Year's Eve. The Beach House, Purple Parrot, Renegade, Cloud 9, Blue Moon, Confetti's, Yum Yum, Our Place, The Buttery, Espuma, Celsius, Sydney's and Harlow's (to name but a few) are still taking reservations for their millennium extravaganzas. Check out the CAMPDates listing on page 32, as well as the ads in this issue for the New Year's Eve line up. This is the last issue of Letters in 1999for the Twentieth Century as well. Our next ad deadline is January 27, 2000. In the meantime, we'll still be around for questions you may have on the upcoming season. Drop by and pick up a new schedule or call me and I'll send it right out. But remember, it's the only break we get, so if we're not in, leave a message and we'll get right back to you. Again, we can't express our appreciation enough for your generous support. You are all an essential part in helping CAMP Rehoboth, a non-profit community service organization, accomplish its mission statement of Creating A More Positive Rehoboth. Have a safe and happy holiday season, and I'll see you around town. John Meng celebrates the second anniversary of the Double L Bar. Robin Russo, James Stabile, and Monica Iglesius at the Renegade's Halloween Party. The cast of Broadway Babble: Lee Cook, Bob Mason, Becki Polk, and Joe Scaturro. Kathleen Nilles and Carolyn Boyer at The Beach House. Tricia Massella is the Advertising Manager for Letters. If you have news you would like to share, call 302-227-5620 or email Dancespkr@aol.com. |
