Help Program Film Fest at Monthly Society Meeting |
At its Thursday, July 20 monthly meeting, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society will screen and critique a new film submitted for consideration in the Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival, November 8 - 12. The Society encourages its membership and the community to get involved in programming the growing festival's celebration of independent cinema from around the globe. "I'm really impressed with the quality of the films submitted this year," says Festival Director and Programmer, Barry Becker. "They're some of the best works we've seen in the three years we've been doing this. Our Film Review participation quadrupled as a result. We had to renovate our screening area to fit everybody in! Its great." Those attending will be the first to hear about some of the films recently booked for the festival. "We're really excited with the shape the festival program is taking," Becker adds. "We've spent months working with embassies, distributors and festivals from all over the world and we're finally seeing the fruits of our labor. Once again, the world is coming to Rehoboth." The Film Society is open to the public and meets every third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. upstairs at Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats, 320 Rehoboth Avenue.
