Former vacationers Jim French and Jim Underwood recently made Rehoboth Beach their permanent address and have become a part of the ever growing business community. All the way from Atlanta, Georgia, Fu Fu Cleaning (derived from French and Underwood), has joined the ranks of other popular cleaning services like Bee Hive, Dust Bunnies, Kat's, Man Maid, SOS and Special Touch. With cleaning machines like this in the area, your party guests can rest assured that the ruffles on their party gowns will drag dust free on your "oh so clean floors." Diana Hansen celebrated her birthday Saturday, July 15 at the Renegade Resort. In addition to the entire evening off, manager Wayne Hodge presented her with a luscious mocha cream cake made by chef Bill Wilson. Ed Moen stepped in and tended bar while she danced til dawn to the tunes of DJ Jeff Harrison. Speaking of parties...Bob Sprout of Dust Bunnies had a fabulous barbecue at his home in Rehoboth Beach. Some familiar faces included Steve Fallon and Arnold LaSpina (shore haus), Bill Mantyla (Bee Hive), Jamie Haughney, Becky Darlington, Liz Lopez, Louis Lucente, and Terry Moore (Double L Bar) just to name a few. The incredible display of food consisted not only of your too large to finish 2 inch T-bone steak, but a variety of salads, chips, dips, cheeses, chicken, shrimp, crab, veggies and desserts. DJ Jam Foks returns to the Renegade Saturday, July 29 pool side with a Ladies Luau Tea on the deck at the Tiki Hut from 4-8 p.m. So get ready for an afternoon of grass skirts, leis, frozen drinks, giveaways and NO COVER! Later that evening Jam will spin at the Beach House Restaurant with a Splash Party starting at 10 p.m. The Renegade and Dan Contarino present Island Rituals Saturday, July 29th at the Renegade Resort. The mega event will feature 2 dance floors and DJs Robbie Tronco, Keana, and Reenie Kane. There will be special performances by Ginger Snaps, Raphael, Miss Phoenixx, and a midnight fashion show extravaganza. Doors will open at 9 p.m. The Beach House has an exciting month planned starting with One Love performing live each Sunday in August at 8 p.m, the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center Project's Tea Dance, Sunday, August 13 from 5 - 8 p.m., and additional Jam Foks Splash parties on August 5 and 26 at 10 p.m. Other exciting happenings are the CAMP Safe-Tea Dance at Cloud 9 on Sunday, July 30 from 5-8 p.m. with DJ Keana; Blue Moon's Roaring 20's Twentieth Anniversary party Sunday, August 6 at 9 p.m.; and a wine and cheese reception for Artist Thom Millsap as he paints in the window of Nassau Gallery on Friday and Saturday, August 4 and 5 from 6-10 p.m. South Beach Fashions is liquidating and taking 20 to 50% off their entire stock. If you mention their ad in Letters you will receive an additional 10% off your purchase. So stop by and see cutie Ariel and let him help you select a few hot new outfits. Another of our favorite stores is closing for good. After 20 years, Bill and John of Splash on Baltimore Avenue are calling it quits. We'll miss them, but don't you miss their half-price sale while it lasts. Don't forget to bring your favorite pet photo to Atlantic Color Lab July 28 through August 13 to enter the "Best Pet at the Beach Contest." The voting will begin August 15 and conclude on September 2. Winners will be announced Sunday, September 3. Your $1 donation for each vote will benefit the SPCA of Sussex County. Be safe and have a great weekend... see you around town.
