AIDS Delaware's Reduced Fee for Hepatitis A and B Shots |
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association (GLMA) recommend vaccinations for the prevention of Hepatitis A and B. Hepatitis A and B are two serious diseases which can produce symptoms such as nausea, fever, chills, loss of appetite, yellow skin, and years later, liver damage and even death. AIDS Delaware, in conjunction with GLMA, is offering reduced price Hepatitis A and B vaccinations at its Sussex County office at 706 Rehoboth Avenue in Rehoboth Beach, Saturday, Sunday, July 7 and 8, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. The vaccinations will also be offered from AIDS Delaware's Bayshore Van for Life at North Shores Beach from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and at Poodle Beach from 3 to 6 p.m. The Hepatitis program is funded by a grant from Glaxo SmithKline Pharmaceuticals. No appointment is necessary. Protect yourself. If you are unable to receive a vaccination at the above locations, you should see your doctor about a vaccination today. For a referral to a physician near you, call the AIDS Delaware Hotline at 800-422-0429. For information about the Hepatitis A and B Vaccination program at AIDS Delaware, and the Bayshore Van for Life, call Maureen Leary at (302) 236-9885. |
