BLUE MOON IN ITS 22nd ROTATION. Has it really been 22 years since the Blue Moon opened? You betcha! The restaurant/bar opened its doors in 1980 and quickly became a Rehoboth hotspot for gay men and women. As for those of you who actually remember being there at that time, NEWS & NOTES wants to hear from you! If you have an interesting tale to tell about the Moon, what it was like, or what Rehoboth was like during that time, please share it with us! Keep it short and simple and we'll print it in the next issue of NEWS & NOTES. Send your submission to TMinnuto@msn.com. Then visit www.BlueMoonRehoboth.com. CAMP REHOBOTH FOLLIES APPLICATIONS. On July 27th, 2002, ten houses/groups will perform a witty, campy, musical skit at the first annual CAMP Rehoboth Follies. Keep in mind that the show is limited on time and can accommodate only 10 skits. Therefore your house/group should submit an application as soon as possible to ensure your time on stage. The first 10 houses/groups that apply will likely be the ones on stage. Many more than 10 houses/groups have already expressed interest, and several applications have been received. So don't wait another minute...even if you don't know all the details of your skit yet. The objective is to simply "reserve your time on stage." We can fill in the details later. Applications are available in this issue of Letters, at www.camprehoboth.com, or by contacting Kathy Weir at 302-227-5620 or Kathywcamp@aol.com to have one sent to you. "Break a leg!" CAMPsafe MODEL SEARCH. It's that time of year again... CAMPsafe is looking for a few good men (of all ages!) to pose as CAMPsafe models in Summer 2002 print materials. Come on, fellas...you know you want to be on a postcard hanging on every Rehoboth refrigerator...so don't be shy! Contact Sal Seeley at 302-227-5620 or SalvatoreSeeley@aol.com for more information about being a model, upcoming photo shoots and more! CAMPsafe SURVEYS. If modeling your body isn't your thing, then help CAMPsafe with your voice! The CAMPsafe program of CAMP Rehoboth is working with Columbia University on a research project that looks at the "risk-taking" behaviors of gay and bisexual men who visit resort communities, like Rehoboth, during summer. CAMPsafe kindly asks that you take this very important, ANONYMOUS survey, which will greatly benefit the research project. You can fill it out online at http://infopoll.net/Live/surveys/s15811.htm or stop by the CAMP Rehoboth office to get a hard copy from Sal Seeley. LISTINGS ON BEACHHOUSENETWORK.com. There are currently 23 share listings and 11 rental listings in the Rehoboth section of www.BeachHouseNetwork.com. If you or someone you know is looking for accommodations this summer, this website is the best bet for finding a place. If you've posted a listing and your house is full (or has been rented), then please remember to delete your listing from the website. CD SPOTLIGHT. Centaur Music's Global Groove series is kicking off its 2002 line-up with an exciting new look with two-time Grammy Award nominee, DJ Tony Moran at the turntable. Look for this yet-to-be-titled CD compilation in early March on www.CentaurMusic.com. And be sure to check out the current Global Groove CD by DJ Julian Marsh entitled "We Are Free." It's simply one of his best CD's to date. If anything, it's worth buying just for the KHZ remake of "Always on my mind" (The one by Willie Nelson not Surreal). NEWS & NOTES can be e-mailed to you online! Simply send an e-mail to Tminnuto@msn.com and write "ADD ME" in the subject line. Also, if you have news or information you would like to see in the next issue, send it to TMinnuto@msn.com. NEWS & NOTES reserves the right to edit all submissions. |
