Shakespeare's Coming to Lewes in August |
The Henlopen Theater Project (HTP) continues its successful 2005 Season by bringing Shakespeare to the beach Thursday and Friday, August 4 and 5, when Much Ado About Nothing will take center stage at the Cape Henlopen High School Little Theater on Kings Highway, starting at 8 pm each night. Now in its 9th year, HTP has created quite a stir this Season with its first two performances, and hopes for continued support for this latest theatrical masterpiece.
Like HTP, The Shakespeare Project is a nonprofit organization that believes great communities deserve great (classical) theater. Starring Casie Platt as Beatrice, John-Michael MacDonald as Benedick and a full supporting cast, theatergoers will find this production entertaining, educating and inspiring. Tickets at $25 may be reserved now by calling 302-226-4103. Group rates are also available. Further information at www.henlopentheaterproject.com. HTP is funded in part by contributions from the Delaware Division of the Arts. Also coming in August as part of HTP's Education Outreach Program is Leslie Sapp, a storyteller, who will be performing folktales from around the world for school-age children and their families in various Southern Delaware Public Libraries between August 8th and 11th. Contact your local library for times. Finally on August 11, English Composer and Musical director Stephan Buckman will give a talk at the Glade Clubhouse in Rehoboth on the making of a musical. The lecture is free but seating is limited. Please call the HTP ticket line at 302-226-4103 to reserve a place. |
