Just a word of appreciation for Murray’s “CAMP Matters” article in the October 16 issue of Letters from CAMP Rehoboth. Specifically, paragraphs 2-5 are right on the money: not speaking up in a “hetero-tilting culture” is absolutely a comfortable lie for many LGBT people.
Your reproof of the “it’s none of their business” position was insightful and well expressed.

As you may or may not know, as of Monday the 16th, after 40 years the Washington Blade has shut down publication. I have had the privilege of delivering this paper to Rehoboth for the last year and a half.
For economic reasons, we will no longer be distributing Gay Life either. I have enjoyed my late night trips to your town, and I regret that it has to end. Best wishes to all for a great holiday. I was looking forward to seeing Rehoboth Christmas decorations at 3:00 a.m. again this year. Now I must move on to other new and hopefully exciting adventures.

It is with an attitude of gratitude the West Side New Beginnings, Inc. (West Rehoboth Youth Program) extend our sincere thanks to our CAMP Rehoboth friends for hosting a golf fundraiser, organizing a cook-out, and donating supplies to West Rehoboth.
We know with everything else on your plate, how difficult it must be to block out more time to plan, meet and coordinate these events, but your participation was very important to us.
We would like to also offer a special thank you to Clair Ippoliti, Steve Elkins, and all the volunteers who came to our center and volunteered their time to help with the cook-out. Please know that your acts of thoughtfulness and kindness are always greatly appreciated and arrive in a timely manner.
With warmest personal regards, we are most appreciative.
