CAMP Angels Raise the Roof!
As soon as we mentioned to Deb Qualey and Karen Gustafson that the front building at 39 Baltimore Avenue (which is owned by CAMP Rehoboth) needed a new roof, they got busy. With roofing materials donated by Denis Brilliant and GAF, and labor donated by Don Allan (pictured with Deb and Karen) of Piccard Homes—builders of Sawgrass at White Oak Creek—CAMP Rehoboth ended up with a new roof that will last for years.
Delaware SB 30 Promises Civil Union Recognition
As we go to press, SB 30 is working its way through the Delaware Legislature. The bill, which grants same-sex couples the legal right to be joined in civil union, will afford LGBT couples the same rights and obligations given opposite-sex couples in marriage. Governor Jack Markell has stated that he will sign the legislation as soon as it is passed. The law would be effective January 1, 2012.

Rehoboth Does DC! Mautner Gala Attracts a Huge Crowd in DC
What looks like half the women in Rehoboth Beach converged in Washington, DC on March 5 for the annual Mautner Gala which raised funds for lesbians with cancer. At the event, the Rehoboth women honored breast cancer survivor Liz Wheeler—an advocate for others diagnosed with the disease.
