August 12, 2011 - All About Sundance

Sundance 2011 — The Wonderful, Glorious, Amazing Light of the Watercolor Rainbow

On Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend the doors of the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center will open on the 24th annual Sundance Benefit, this year called Sundance 2011: The Wonderful, Glorious, Amazing Light of the Watercolor Rainbow.

Over the years, Sundance has become a Labor Day tradition in Rehoboth Beach, and its two nights of fun make it one of the most exciting events in the area.

Saturday, September 3 from 7-10 p.m. is the first night of Sundance and includes the Sundance Live and Silent Auction, a cocktail buffet, and an open bar all night long. The enormous event features over 500 items and includes: art, antiques, furniture, trips, tools, jewelry, dinners at the best restaurants in the area, and fun for everyone. The live auction contains some of the most exciting auction items, and for the second year in a row, the talents of auctioneer Lorne Crawford.

Sunday, September 4, from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. is The Sundance with music by Mark Thomas and a “wonderful, glorious, amazing” lightshow by Sundance light man Paul Turner.

To construct the magic that is Sundance requires the efforts of hundreds of volunteers, sponsors, supporters, and hosts. From selling tickets on the beach to picking up auction items, a long list of Sundance Team Captains inspire a legion of volunteers who enjoy the experience enough to come back year after year. “It’s hard work,” says Sundance co-chair Natalie Moss, “but I look forward to it every year!”

Sundance 2011 tickets are $80 for both events or $45 for one event, and are available in advance on the CAMP Rehoboth website at camprehoboth.com, or at CAMP Rehoboth (302-227-5620). Cash, check, American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover accepted.

All proceeds will benefit the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center. CAMP Rehoboth, Inc is tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions and gifts are tax deductible as charitable contributions.
