Equality Delaware Unveils Plan for Civil Unions
More than 165 people participated in the Town Hall meeting at CAMP Rehoboth to hear from members of Equality Delaware about legislation being introduced to allow same-sex civil unions in Delaware. For a copy of the proposed legislation and ways to get involved, visit equalitydelaware.com.
Polar Bear Plunge in Rehoboth Beach
The air temperature was a frigid 42 degrees (and the water a bit colder at 36 degrees) for the Polar Bear Plunge in Rehoboth Beach on Sunday, February 6. Pictured below are the Sistas and Buoys of the Seas—organized by Pam Notarange—and the Ravens Plunge Team—organized by Dee Pecora. This year’s Polar Bear Plunge raised more than $550,000 for Special Olympics.
PFLAG Returns to Rehoboth Beach
A chapter of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) is being formed in the Rehoboth area. PFLAG provides support to friends and family members of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons. Melissa Cox at the Seafood Shack
Melissa Cox, named Delaware’s “best singer/songwriter” by Spark magazine, and “best musical folk artist” by the Delaware Division of the Arts, will perform at the Seafood Shack (42 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth) on Saturday, March 12. In addition to her successful career as a solo artist, Cox is the lead singer of Celtic fusion band Mythica. Doors open at 9 p.m. and there’s no cover!
