PERFORMING ARTS
Clear Space Theatre Company (20 Baltimore Avenue; 302-227-2270) opening June 28 Clear Space presents their “ABC Summer” with Annie, Broadway at the Beach (pop-rock revue), and Cabaret in two-day rotations, six nights a week (Tuesday-Sunday) at 7:30 p.m. through Labor Day weekend. Join them for the opening night celebration of Cabaret on June 28—cash bar, hors d’oeuvres (provided by Mixx), and a live auction. All tickets on sale now. Check the website for their Musical Theatre Summer Intensives for grades 1-12, as well as a new camp for young actors.
Possum Point Players (441 Old Laurel Road in Georgetown; 302-856-4560) presents Bill Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, July 7 and August 4, in the Outdoor Shakespeare in the Garden at the Rehoboth Art League; 12 Dodds Lane in Henlopen Acres.

*AerieArt Gallery (45½ Lake Avenue; 302-227-5376 / 302-584-6402) invites you to view their selection of new works by gallery artists, recent acquisitions of investment quality original fine paintings, many from the late 19th and early 20th Centuries, plus a summer sale of excess stock of fine prints for $95 each. Open daily from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., except Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Amandeline Gallery (1 North First Street; 302-226-0330) presents new works by nationally and internationally acclaimed artist Anne Packard as well as Sergey Cherep, original Romanian glass, canvas floor cloths, unique ceramics, and Rosanna tableware. Featuring original oil paintings on board by award-winning artist Elaine Hahn and new original acrylics by Amanda Ponko, and canvas works by classic realist Marc Whitney.
*Anita Peghini-Räber Gallery (49 Baltimore Avenue; 302-227-2888) Local and regional art; Thursday-Sunday, 1-10 p.m. and Monday 10 a.m. to noon, or by appointment.
*Gallery 50 and G-50 Fine Art Photography (50 A-B Wilmington Avenue; 302-227-2050) presents Twists and Turns—new abstract work by Susan Finsen—through July 12. The gallery holds an artist’s reception for Arizona-based artist Rose Minetti on Saturday, July 14 (6-9 p.m.) for an exhibition of her work through August 9. On Saturday, July 21 (6-8 p.m.) there will an artists’ reception for The First State exhibition. All of the artists represented by the gallery will show work inspired by Delaware and the Rehoboth Beach area in their chosen media. This show runs through August 16.
The Happyrock Pottery (20 Baltimore Avenue at the Celebration Mall; 410-375-7120) features the work of potter Susan Gladstone who has 100 bottles on the wall. Let’s see how many are left in the fall.
*Heidi Lowe Gallery (328 Rehoboth Avenue; 302-227-9203) continue their 4th annual Earrings Galore Exhibition—earrings in all their forms, shapes, sizes and colors through the summer. The gallery always features handmade, contemporary jewelry by studio artists from around the world.
*Juleez (1 North First Street; 302-227-3792) features the unique and vibrant works of Julie Borden including hand-painted cellos, violins, miniature pianos, giclee prints, dichroic glass sculptures of MAD Creations and art work of Amandeline Gallery.
Midge Smith Fine Art Gallery (135 Second Street, second floor, in Lewes; 302-245-4528) Art for a Purpose assists tax-exempt organizations by turning donated art into cash for their use. Gallery hours are 2-6 p.m., Friday-Sunday.
Packard Reath Gallery (Located in The Hotel Rodney, 142 Second Street; Lewes; 302-644-7513) Specializing in Fine Art Photography. City Lights—an exhibition of works by Jason Langer—opens Saturday, July 7, with an opening reception from 5-7 p.m.
*Paintiques (20 Baltimore Avenue; 302-258-4203) offers Sherry Biele’s unique and artfully-painted vintage furniture and accessories as well as glass art by Connie Ballato, silver jewelry by Sue Bartley, and handbags by Linanz. Newly arrived at Paintiques, one-of-a-kind artist-created charm bracelets that will knock your socks off. Summer hours Thursday-Saturday (12-8 p.m.), Sunday (1-5 p.m.) and Monday (10 a.m.-2 p.m.)
Peninsula Gallery (520 E. Savannah Rd in Lewes; 302-645-0551) now under the ownership of BJ Clark, the gallery will feature new landscapes in oil and pastel by artists Beth Clark and John David Held in a new show entited Intimate Spaces—Transcendent Light with an opening reception Saturday, June 30 (5:30-7:30 p.m.). Through July 27.
*Philip Morton Gallery (47 Baltimore Avenue; 302-727-0905) presents a new show by Gary Fisher and Rob Vander Zee in collaboration with Universal Gear, opening reception at both locations, Friday, June 29 (6-9 p.m.). Through July 14.

Rehoboth Art League (12 Dodds Lane in Henlopen Acres; 302-227-8408) hosts their 39th Annual Members Craft Exhibit in the Corkran and Tubbs Galleries and Artwork from this year’s Plein Air Coastal Delaware Competition in the Homestead through July 15. Rehoboth Beach Film Society (107 Truitt Avenue, 302-645-9095) seeks Film Critics to screen submissions for this year’s Festival. *Thunderbird Gallery (200 Rehoboth Avenue; 302-227-1900) is proud to host Artist-in-residence Thom Millsap on Friday, July 13 and Saturday, July 14 (7-10 p.m.). Thom will be painting original works while in attendance Come to meet Thom and view his casual, vibrant scenes of the beach.
*Ward Ellinger Gallery (CAMP Rehoboth Courtyard, 39 Baltimore Avenue; 302-227-2710) features the work of Ward Ellinger, Sondra N. Arkin, and others. Come in and see the ever-popular Spiritiles (molten glass on copper) by Houston Llew, contemporary blown glass menorahs by Shardz Glass, recycled farm equipment transformed into contemporary side tables, hand blown glass, pottery and metal works by various American artists. Chromosaturation—new work by Sondra Arkin—continues through July 21.
