Hit the Dance Floor with Ladies 2000 on April 12
One of the very best collaborative efforts of the season is coming Saturday night, April 12 at the RB Convention Center.
It’s the Ladies 2000 Tea Dance, celebrating its fourth season as part of the CAMP Rehoboth Women’s FEST.
The joint effort came about on a snowy December night back in 2010, as FEST committee members and Ladies 2000 guru Diane Lusk sat around chatting. The committee members wanted to add a dance to the FEST, but why reinvent the wheel? They knew that the Philly-based Ladies 2000 team had years and years of experience throwing great parties. With a smile and a handshake, (plus plenty of subsequent logistics meetings!) the collaboration was born.
To say it has been successful is an understatement.
Hundreds of women take part every year on Women’s FEST Weekend from Saturday late afternoon, into evening at the Convention Center. DJ Steve Singer rocks the room, admission is only $15 at the door, and the drinks are great (with reduced prices this year!). Of course, Ladies 2000 and CAMP both benefit from the proceeds and the party-goers have a blast.
Since the event goes from 5-10 p.m., Women’s FEST attendees come and go, sampling other events, then going to the dance, or getting their groove on early and then going to dinner or a concert. It works like a charm and anchors the Saturday night of Women’s FEST. With so many women coming from out of town to join the Rehoboth gang, the dance is a great opportunity not only for dancing but for socializing, meeting, mingling and having a great big party.
Joining the party this year will be hometown vocalist Viki Dee, with a special set of danceable tunes as one more thank you to the community who has been so supportive of her.
The doors to the Convention Center open on Saturday at 5 p.m. and the party rocks on until 10 p.m.
