Epworth United Methodist Church Announces Columbarium Installation
Plans are underway for the installation of a state-of-the-art columbarium at the Epworth United Methodist Church’s cemetery located along the western end of Henlopen Avenue.
The columbarium will consist of four units, each housing 40 niches, for a total of 160 available niches. The new installation was designed by Delaware Architects, LLC. The firm also served as the architect during the new church building in 2008.
“The finest quality materials will be used in this construction,” said Evans Shearon, Chair of the Epworth Cemetery Committee. “The professional design will include granite plaques, an entry pedestal, as well as four meditation benches.”
Shearon went on to say that the opportunity to purchase niches will be offered to the public, not only Church members.
Once completed, the columbarium will be the only public columbarium within the Rehoboth City limits.
Pre-sale of the niches has begun, with an all-inclusive pre-sale price in effect until December, 2014. Private consultations can be arranged by contacting Fred Smith, Cemetery Superintendent, via email or by calling 302-930-3733.
