CAMP Rehoboth Receives Capital Grant from DCF
CAMP Rehoboth is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a grant of $5,000 under the Delaware Community Foundation’s (DCF) Capital Grants Program. The funds will be used to paint the exterior of the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center located at 37 Baltimore Avenue in Rehoboth.
The CAMP Rehoboth Community Center provides the physical location where CAMP Rehoboth and many other non-profits deliver a wide range of services essential to the community. These include Health Day, collaborations with Beebe Medical Center, providing flu shots and health screenings, and the CAMPsafe program, which provides HIV prevention services including testing and counseling. The Community Center is also used as the venue for arts and cultural entertainment for local and regional artists, and many other purposes.
CAMP Rehoboth and DCF have an ongoing partnership. In 2008, CAMP Rehoboth received a capital grant from them which, along with contributions from members and private donors, was instrumental in allowing CAMP Reboboth to complete construction of its new wing.
Steve Elkins, Executive Director of CAMP Rehoboth, says, “CAMP Rehoboth is appreciative of being selected and its ongoing partnership with the Delaware Community Foundation. The exterior painting of the Community Center has been identified as a top priority, and we look forward to putting a fresh face on the center where so many are served.”
The painting of the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center will be completed in September 2014.
The Delaware Community Foundation manages charitable funds for individuals, families, businesses, and organizations, and distributes income from the funds as grants to humanitarian, educational, health and cultural entities throughout the First State. More Information
