Lewes Historical Society Hosts Bus Trip to Winterthur on Wednesday, October 15
Members of the Lewes Historical Society and their guests will be traveling by coach to Winterthur on October 15 to view the unique Downton Abbey costume display in the company of John Feliciani, recently retired former Curator of Horticulture and Director of the Horticulture Division at Winterthur where he served for more than two decades. Mr. Feliciani is the fourth generation of his family to do so. Participants will learn about the history of Winterthur and about the role that horticulture played in the lives of those who lived there while they are journeying to the Wilmington area.
In addition to viewing the costume collection, there will be a tour of the Winterthur gardens and of the world-renowned house. This is the only place in the United States that this costume collection can be seen.
Those interested in reserving a seat on the coach should call 302-645-7670. The cost for members is $55 and for non-members $75. Cost includes coach fare, garden, house and costume tours, lunch, and driver tip.
