April 3, 2015 - Women's FEST Update

CAMP Rehoboth Women's FEST 2015

FEST Update 2015: The clock is ticking down, at last!

Are you ready FESTies? We sure are! In less than a week we’ll welcome you all with open arms as CAMP Rehoboth Women’s FEST celebrates 15 momentous years of hundreds of mid-Atlantic women joining together in downtown Rehoboth for four days of fun, unifying activities, learning and loving, and memory making good times. Get here, get mobile, mix and mingle, and we’ll all kick off the FESTivities in grand style!

Have you made plans to FEST with us? If not, hop to!

More lesbian Lambda winning and nominated lesbian authors will be in town for Women’s FEST than ever before! Bywater Books writers, Golden Crown Literary Society novelists, A&M Books authors—the “who’s who” of the lesbian literary scene will be up close, in person, to launch books, perform readings, and sign your personal copies. Read the Letters from CAMP Rehoboth article in this issue and bookmark your FEST schedule. Don’t miss ‘em!

Then there’s The Vagina Monologues. Perhaps you’ve seen the Eve Ensler award winning screen play in all of its fabulousness, but until you behold the performance under the directorial guidance  of local author Fay Jacobs and starring veterans of the stage Jane Bruns, Stacey Fearheiley and Eloise Ullman, you haven’t experienced the production “Rehoboth style.” (See Women's FEST Vagina Monologues in this issue for details.) Tickets are just $20. Read all about it here in Letters and be there!

Bidder, bidder, bidder! Attention everyone with panache and a flair for the spectacular, the Women’s FEST live auction beckons you! Details are here in Letters. Bring your deep pockets and let those bids soar high for a good cause!

CAMP Rehoboth is a big supporter of the arts, and this year’s Women’s Art Show and Reception from 3-5 p.m. on Friday has come together to be a must see exhibit and procurement opportunity! Be sure to stop by CAMP Rehoboth and enjoy a glass of wine and a nibble while enjoying the many beautiful, original works of art.

It’s going to be another great and memorable FESTival, that’s for sure! A dozen or more live performances; a free welcome dance party, sporting events, a totally revamped free EXPO with artisans, live entertainment and free gift giveaways, the best in leading edge workshops, Ladies 2000 dance party, the 5th annual Broadwalk on the Boardwalk and much more! It’s all awaiting you April 9-12!

Everything FEST is on CAMP Rehoboth’s website and you can buy tickets there too!

Women’s FEST is a program and fundraising event for CAMP Rehoboth Community Center, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year! CAMP Rehoboth is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing a “home for all” and many health and social services to the LGBTQ community. CAMP has played a large role in shaping the Rehoboth and surrounding area’s culture for embracing diversity. While in town, please drop by the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center at 37 Baltimore Avenue to introduce yourself and allow us to thank you for helping fund CAMP’s initiatives.
