Christopher Peterson On Stage In Dover August 29
Our local celebrity Christopher Peterson may not be performing in Rehoboth Beach this summer, but he will be making a one-night only appearance nearby.
Christopher and his amazing Eyecons show will be at the Schwartz Center for the Arts in historic downtown Dover, DE on Saturday, August 29 at 8 p.m. This event will raise funds to support the Schwartz Center and its ongoing entertainment and educational programs for the community.
Christopher will bring his famous all-live, no lip-sync revue, featuring the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Carol Channing, Tina Turner, Barbra Streisand, Liza, Judy, Cher, and more to brilliant life at the Schwartz.
The world’s foremost female impersonator will be in Dover thanks to Schwartz Center Executive Director Sydney Arzt, who worked to help promote Eyecons during its long run in Rehoboth.
“Sydney contacted me and I said I’d love to go to Dover,” Christopher says. “I’m looking forward to working at the Schwartz.” He will be coming direct from a performance in Alberta, Canada at the Edmonton International Fringe Festival, where he will be starring as Typhoon Judy. The Eyecons show in Dover will be about 90 minutes long, with all the spot-on impersonations we know and love.
Any changes? “Well, Joan Rivers is now doing a monologue about being in heaven and meeting up with Princess Di,” Christopher says. And it’s certain that lots of other pop culture icons will also be mentioned. There’s got to be a moment for Caitlin Jenner or another Kardashian, right?
If you’ve never seen Christopher, or, like most of us, would adore seeing him again (what’s a summer without Christopher?) head up Route One to Dover and a fabulous night out. The show is a benefit and Christopher is planning a special evening.
Like the Washington Post said, “The brass you expect from a female impersonator. The class may come as a surprise.”
Tickets are available at the theatre box office, 302-678-5152 or schwartzcenter.com. Orchestra, premier seating tickets are $100, balcony and mezzanine ticket are $50.
The performance will be presented by We Love the Arts, a group of friends working to help the arts flourish in Central Delaware.
Christopher admits he is excited to play a part in the growth of the Schwartz Center for the Arts. That’s because benefits and donations of his time are a long tradition for him from way back in the day, starting at Rehoboth’s Renegade dance club (may she R.I.P.), through those fun years with the CAMP Rehoboth Follies, to the July 4th weekend art events, and more, Mr. Peterson pitched in, donating his time and talent, and over the years, he has helped raise funds for non-profits and really made a difference.
Now he is set to help the Schwartz Center in Dover, a gorgeous professional theater, hoping to bring unique programming to historic downtown Dover. Christopher is encouraging people to see his show and support this worthy cause.
Sponsorship opportunities are available and include premium seating, tickets to future events, an invitation to the encore reception following the show and an opportunity to mingle with Christopher and the We Love the Arts Committee.
