Thomas C. Gile
Thomas C. Gile, age 52, of Lewes, DE passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Bay Health Center-Kent, in Dover, DE. He was born Tuesday, May 21, 1963 at O’Connor Hospital in Delhi, NY, son of the late Edison H. and Olive M. “Petie” (Clark) Gile.
Tom graduated from the Delaware Academy in Delhi, NY. He spent some time at the corner of Hollywood and Vine pumping gas in his early years. He waited on many a table, served many drinks and dipped a lot of ice cream with Joe at Double Dippers in Rehoboth, DE. Getting his delicious ice cream sent north never seemed to happen, so his family would visit him.
Tom loved music, he played tuba, piano, and also enjoyed playing handbells. Tom always had a smile, an infectious laugh, and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was loved by all.
Tom is survived by his mother, Olive; brother Dave (Sue Tucker); sister Mary Schmitt (Paul); his partner of 18 years, Jocques LeClair; nieces, Michelle; Lisa; Emily (Ian); Maci (Jason) and Alex; Becky (Paul); Karrie (Thad); Aimee (Ken); Thomas, Jody (Christopher); 11 grandchildren and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Tom’s wishes were not to have a formal service. The family would like to extend their gratitude to friends, family, and staff at Bay Health Center-Kent who helped them get through this difficult time.
John M. Kmetz
John M. Kmetz, age 62, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, DE. He was born on May 3, 1953 in New York City, NY, son of the late Michael and Aline (Barlow) Kmetz.
Mr. Kmetz graduated from Rutgers University in Bridgeton, NJ with his Bachelor’s degree in English. He embarked on a lifelong career in the Healthcare Administration and Public Relations industries. He worked for numerous corporations including Graduate Health Systems in Philadelphia, PA as a Public Relations Director.
Mr. Kmetz had a quick wit and was a great story teller who enjoyed capturing his ideas and thoughts in writing. He loved relaxing at home by watching classic movies, and different TV shows, cooking, or spending time gardening in his bountiful garden. He also loved traveling and took many trips across the country.
Mr. Kmetz is survived by his companion of many years, Robert DiMauro of Rehoboth Beach, DE; his sister, Ann K. Eves and her husband Paul of Drexel Hill, PA; his one niece, Jessica Eves Williams and her husband Bill of Wilmington, DE; and his one nephew, David Eves of Havertown, PA.
Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes, DE.
