Another Magical Evening! RAL’s Enchanted Forest
If you attended the one of a kind 75th Anniversary Beaux Arts Ball in 2013 to benefit Rehoboth Art League—or you merely heard about it, as it was hard to miss the buzz, now is your chance to have a different kind of enchanted evening, but certainly one that is equally inspired.
The Art League and its creative forces are banding together once again to produce a magical evening on June 27, 7-10 p.m. This time it’s to herald the official opening of the new RAL Art Studios on Route 9. Funds from the ticketed gala will support artists and youth at the new Art Studios. Tickets are available now at rehobothartleague.org.
There will be amazing sights and fantastic fun to be had as Event Co-chairs Candy Ramelli and Ginny Daly’s folks have been busy painting outrageous costumes and otherwise coming up with creative ways to celebrate.
“It exemplifies what the Art League is all about, says Ginny Daly,”It’s the art of making magic!” And Daly, whose personal motto is “If it’s worth doing, it’s worth overdoing!” should know. Any event she is associated with really rocks!
It’s a good bet that this creative team will leave no stone unturned, literally, in creating a forest and the trees.
Underwritten by Ocean Atlantic Sotheby’s International Realty, and sponsored by PNC Bank, the art-infused event is set to raise funds for the Rehoboth Art League to benefit local artists and students.
Similar to the stunning surprises for guests at the Beaux Arts, this time guests will enter an exotic forest, teeming with living creatures created by the Tiger Lili design team. It promises to be one of the most creative and sophisticated displays ever. Combine the artwork and design with heavy hors d’oeuvres by Nage, a beer garden with signature cocktails by Dogfish Head, and dance tunes by DJ BIS, and it’s bound to be an outstanding evening.
Recalling the exotic costumes and art-come-to-life tableaus from Beaux Arts, this event promises some astounding visual pleasures. Inside the RAL Studios will be several unique music-infused exhibitions created by RAL Exhibitions Director, Jay Pastore.
Headlining the event is Carolyn B. Nagy, Assistant Vice President, Sotheby’s Mid-Atlantic who will speak on “Art as an Investment: The State of the Art Market.” An expert in the art market, Nagy joined Sotheby’s Auction House in 2007. She assists her clientele in bringing their valuable property to the appropriate market worldwide, and oversees all formal appraisals in the region. Carolyn is sought after to talk on Sotheby’s Auction House services and the art market and is able to speak at the event courtesy of Ocean Atlantic Sotheby’s International Realty.
“We are excited that the same blockbuster team who planned and created our 75th Anniversary Beaux Art Ball have joined together to lead this endeavor, says Executive Director Sheila Bravo, once again to help support the growing needs of our art education and outreach.”
As a bonus, and to recognize local artistic talent, the community may also purchase a uniquely designed purse or dinner jacket for the event. Art and retail work together as RAL artists have been painting cork purses provided by Sharee’s on Rehoboth Avenue and distinctive dinner jackets by Carltons. These hand-decorated items will be awesome souvenirs of a night to remember.
As Beaux Arts attendees will tell you, this creative crew pushes boundaries and takes that added step. It’s a delicious mystery what you will find on Route 9 at their new studios when The Enchanted Forest comes to life on June 27.
Tickets, and reservations for jackets and purses, are available through the RAL website at rehobothartleague.org.
