CAMP Rehoboth Chorus Performing in Georgetown
CAMP Rehoboth Chorus, a program of the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center, will present its final 2015 concert, And the Winner Is… at the Arts and Science Center Theatre at Delaware Technical and Community College, 21179 College Avenue on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at 3 p.m. The venue is conveniently situated near Delaware 113 on Route 18/404. Featured in the concert are more than eighty harmonic voices led by artistic director Doug Yetter, five professional band members directed by accompanist David Zipse, and a fabulous emcee, “Hoda Hollywood.” The chorus is excited to return to Georgetown after coming off of three highly successful performances in Rehoboth Beach.
A few recent audience comments summarize a brief review of this show:
“Excellent selection of songs—diversity and variety—great music!”
“Very professional production: Quality and talent of the chorus has grown exponentially.”
This dynamic and versatile presentation showcases favorite award-winning songs from a variety of genres. Represented are country, gospel, R & B, folk, movie, and musical theatre, as well as a surprise or two with numbers that didn’t quite win but should have. Some won Grammys, some Oscars, and a couple were voted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. All of this is tied up nicely with wit and a dab of sophistication. Band members take opportunities to perform a couple of rousing numbers on their own, as well! The show appeals to various musical tastes, and the audience will certainly recognize most of the selections.
